Its synthetic and textile upper is built for a locked-in fit, and it sits on a soft-ground soleplate with metal studs — the setup for genuinely muddy, wet pitches, where moulded plastic studs tend to skate over the surface rather than bite into it. A padded collar and moulded sockliner handle comfort over a full eighty minutes.
Its real advantage is the size run. At UK 4 it's the smallest boot in the entire adidas rugby range — nothing else adidas makes for rugby goes below UK 5.
It also comes in more than one colourway, which matters more than it sounds: when a size sells out in one colour it's often still available in another.
Choose it if: you take UK 4 or 4.5, you want a supportive fit, or you play most of your rugby in winter conditions.
RS15 Rise — best value
UK 5–8 · Soft ground · Metal studs
The Rise uses a synthetic upper on a soft-ground soleplate with metal studs, finished with a padded collar and moulded sockliner for comfort over a full game.
It is the simpler build of the two — synthetic, rather than the Avaglide's synthetic-and-textile construction.
Choose it if: you want a straightforward soft-ground boot at the lower price, and UK 5 or above fits you.
What to look for in a women's rugby boot
Match the studs to the ground you actually play on. Both of these are soft-ground boots with metal studs, designed for soft, wet natural grass. If you play mostly on dry, hard pitches or artificial grass, neither is the right tool — and using metal studs on the wrong surface can damage the boot. Check the manufacturer's guidance for the surfaces each boot is intended for.
Position matters more than gender. Both of these come from the RS15 line, which adidas builds around speed, agility and kicking — so they're aimed at backs and loose forwards. If you play in the front five and want a boot built for scrummaging, adidas' Kakari line is the one designed for that job, though it isn't made in women's sizing.
